Common questions
How do I delete my account and all my data?
In the app: Profile → Account → Delete Account, then confirm.
This permanently removes your profile, your progress and your streaks from our servers, and wipes the app's data — journal included — from your device. It cannot be undone. If you are signed in with Apple, iOS may ask you to authenticate again first; this is Apple confirming it is really you.
If you cannot reach the button — for example the app will not open — email us from any address and tell us the display name on your account, and we will delete it for you.
Are my reflections private?
Yes. Everything you write in the Journal is stored on your device only. It is never uploaded and no one else can see it. The only thing shared with other users is your display name and score on the leaderboard.
Where did my progress go after reinstalling?
Progress is kept on your device unless you sign in with Apple. Signing in backs it up and restores it on a new device or after a reinstall: Profile → Account → Sign in with Apple. Journal entries are stored only on your device and are not part of that backup.
Sign in with Apple isn't working.
Check that you are signed in to iCloud (Settings → your name) and that you have a network connection, then try again. If it still fails, note the error message shown and email it to us. Sign in with Apple requires iOS 13 or later.
My daily reminder never arrives.
Turn the reminder on at Profile → Settings → Daily Reminders and pick a time. Then check iOS Settings → Notifications → Gita Prakash and make sure "Allow Notifications" is on and Focus or Do Not Disturb is not silencing it at that hour.
Can I change my display name?
Your display name is chosen once during setup, and version 1.0 has no way to change it in the app. Email us and we will change it for you. Bear in mind that this name is what other readers see on the leaderboard, so pick something you are happy to show publicly.
How do I request a copy of my data?
Email us from the address on your account, or tell us your display name, and we will send you everything we hold. See the Privacy Policy for what that is.
Is the app free? Does it have ads?
Gita Prakash is free. There are no ads, no in-app purchases, no analytics SDKs, and no tracking.
